The Nike women’s only marathon (in SF) is so popular it is a lottery. I got in! It is October 19th, I will be taking both of my daughter’s with me (no they are not running), it should be fantastic. When you cross the finish line you are handed a blue tiffany box by a San Francisco Fire fighter with a necklace that says 26.2! Sweet! I am running lot’s of hills in Scappoose in preparation, I have no time goal for this one, just to finish and have a great time.
My marathon training is going great, we are up to 16 miles now! I completed the Helvatia Half-marathon earlier this month and finished 13th in my age group out of 92. My daughters also formed a Breast Cancer 3-day (60 mile) walk in my honor, our team name is lugarlegs, we will be doing that the weekend of September 12th. You can visit www.The3day.org (Seattle) and look for team lugarlegs, I will also post a link to my personal page on the web-site.
Things in the studio are good, I have a little free time so I am designing new Christmas items and working on orchids, poppys and day lilies. I recently did some work for Caddies4cure and will again be doing work for the Doernbecher children’s hospital auction. I so enjoy being able to give back with my art.
Our dragon-boat team is headed to Long Beach for National trials this weekend, we should do well.
My deck is in full bloom, look for a new picture to replace the snow. Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer, see you at a show soon.
January found us very busy with Trade SHows, first Portland then Seattle. Seattle was my most sucessful show to date! I even went international, with a nice order in Dublin, Ireland. I have alot of new designs, and they just keep coming to me, usually in the very early morning when I am still in that semi dream state. Sue, my web-designer/friend, and I spend Tuesday’s together working on my new web-site. It is coming along nicely and we would love your feed-back and suggestions. When you go to the Artist’s page you will see a lovely picture of my view from the studio window, we are at about the 1,000 foot level so we have enjoyed lots of snow this winter.
I continue to run, and dragon-boat race (check out the Wasabi link) we are off to Tempe the end of March for our first race of the season. Friday is a big day for me, going to cut off the pony-tail! For those of you who know me well this is scary for me, time for a new sassy look for spring! Look for a new picture and a new view from the studio window.
Keep Dreaming, Kim
Welcome to my new blog. I can’t believe how many people are interested in what goes on in an artist’s head, but I am more than happy to share. I’ll post as often as time allows, so check back often!
